After a heartbreaking loss in WTC Final and after 3 weeks of refreshment of minds, India is ready to lock horns with England in the first of the five-match test series at Trent Bridge. Let us roll back in history, In 2007 Rahul Dravid led India to victory in English Soil. But after that India failed miserably in future tours. In 2011, MS Dhoni-led Indian Side was handed an embarrassing loss of 4-0. In 2014, England again defeated India by 3-1. On that tour also Dhoni was Captaining the side. In that year only, Virat Kohli was given the captaincy of the Indian Test Side and he took no time in surpassing MS Dhoni's record of winning most tests, thus making him the most successful Captain in tests for India. In 2018, when India toured England, everyone expected the Indian side to come out flying colors. Unfortunately, that didn't happen as England won the 5 match series by 4-1.
This time also the expectations are high. As the Indian side has defeated Aussies in their own backyard twice in a row, so obviously the expectations have become higher. Various Cricketing experts are also giving India an edge to win this series as England will be without the services of Jofra Archer and Ben Stokes.
